It’s always sad when a band splits us. Actually, seeing as Team Waterpolo split today, that’s wrong, as sometime’s it quite a good thing when bands end it. Anyway, it’s sad when a band you’ve been meaning to do a proper post on split out of the blue, and that is certainly the case with Bloody Knees. According to their myspace, the band are ‘no more’, which is a huge shame. With a 7″ single coming out soon as well, the huge promise that the band had shown through the tracks opn their myspace was enough to encourage. Whilst I only saw them once and for about 3 songs, they were glorious, easily matching up to Trash Kit and Cats in Paris, who were both on the bill (in what now seems like an excellent line-up that wasn’t fully appreciated).
Anyway, as a post houmus tribute to them, here’s two of their mp3s. They were high energy, low fidelity, punk inspired brilliance, and the world already feels like it’s a little worse for there being no more Bloody Knees.
