A problem with a lot of amateur electronic producers is that, rather than making fully formed songs, they prefer to just deal in half-baked ideas, based on a alright sample and a bit of synth. Jeweller’s ‘Light Leave Me’ last six minutes and fourty three second, using that relatively weight time to build up a track that could be the post-dubstep cousin of Gavin Bryar’s ‘Jesus blood never failed me yet’. It’s lovely and worrying in equal measure, a track filled with confidence and a standout on an album that often falls into the same easy trappings as those of it’s peers.
