Based in London and hopefully nothing to do with that anachronism that is their Radio 4 namesake, Woman’s Hour have been bubbling about for quite a while now, popping up on soundcloud and twitter to promote their various new recordings. It’s not been until their latest effort, Human, though, that they’ve truely managed to capture what they’re capable of. A 6 minute meander, it’s a track that another band might’ve been tempted to split into two separate tracks altogether, given it’s the two halves are almost polar opposites. Opening up with slow, witchhouse-esque attempts at ambience, it’s 3 minutes before it attempts to become an actual pop song, still managing to retain the skittishness that Kate Bush might’ve had if she was 20 or so today. God, imagine if Kate Bush was 20 today.
