Maybe the good weather in Manchester has been having an affect on the people that live here: for once, the city seems to have churned out a band that sound as hot as the bank holiday weekend has been. Whilst everyone else had their eyes transfixed on the Royal Wedding (wasn’t her dress amazing? didn’t Pippa look great? and they kissed twice!) The Bell Peppers were in the process of uploading their languid, sweltering surf rock stylings to bandcamp. For the most part, you can simply draw comparisons to Y Niwl, expect a little more fuzz and slightly more sixties swing, but for the opener they might have well got Brown Brogues to do the vocals. When the rain and cold comes back we can only hope they don’t start pumping out lad rock or something.
