Another week, another band covering themselves in mystery. The only thing missing from this entirely predictable recipe is the fact that the music at the centre of it all isn’t the usual indie stuff being peddled on the back of some symbols and some masks, but it’s some aggressive electronic music. Perhaps the dubstep equivalent of what HEALTH are to noise punk, FRAUD come from Liverpool and absolutely smash it with their three efforts, all streaming on bandcamp, all enough to make anyone even remotely sober feel a headache coming on. Thanks to their mastery of the keyboard, there’s no real names for any of their stuff – Facebook hints at the name ‘Shapeshifter’ but that’s about it. God knows what they’re trying to achieve, but what they’re doing at the moment is nothing short of brutal.
