The news only broke a couple of days ago, so i don’t think I’m too late to still be revelling in the joy that is the news of Slow Club‘s debut album! Of course, last year they released an EP which was okay, but it wasn’t a patch upon the mounds and mounds of MP3’s you could gather up from all around the place. however, now they’ve gone one step further and have announced that ‘Yeah, So’ will be out on the 6th of July this year. I’ll be counting down the days and praying for some kind of leak, but before that big day arrives the band have got some kind of celebrity status coming on.
Managing to do what Robbie Williams would have happily paid thousands of dollars for, they’ve got a break in America. Okay, so it’s only a little bit of background music in an episode of Dexter, but it’s still something, right? I never thought I’d see the day when everyone’s favourite twee pop duo would be on prime-time America television. But yeah, their festive hit ‘Christmas TV’ was played on their a few weeks ago, much to my excitement.
Also, they took part in the bandstand busking thing that’s going on, and here’s a video of one of their newer tracks. It’s pretty good:
Anyway, if you want to download Christmas TV, then it’s here for you. It’s 7 months too late, but enjoy.
And here’s a supposed track listing for the album:
When I Go
Giving Up On Love
I Was Unconscious, It Was A Dream
It Doesn’t Have to be Beautiful
There Is No Good Way To Say I Am Leaving You
Because We’re Dead
Dance Till The Morning Light
Sorry About The Doom
Come On Youth
Apples And Pairs
Our Most Brilliant Friends
I am particularly looking forward to hearing album versions of Apples and Pairs and Because We’re Dead. Should be an amazing soundtrack to the summer.
