Internet Forever are one of my favourite bands. The day I found a quote from one of my posts on their myspace page was one of the most exciting of my entire life. Well, maybe not to that extent, but I was giddy for a good hour or two. And seeing them live – and having a cake afterwards – was brilliant.
It seems that a lot of other people are thinking the same these days, as the band are releasing a real, proper single. Cover the Walls is being released on the 28th of September, and for the life of me I cannot find any news on which label it is on or how you can go about getting it. But I suppose it is over a month away, so there’s no real rush to get it.
In other news, and regarding the free goodies in this post, IF recently played ‘Our Band Could BBQ your Life’, which sounds like one of the best mini-festivals I could ever imagine, in which good bands covered other good bands (and very influential, well known bands) and had a BBQ. Internet Forever did Beat Happening, and here is their rendition of bewitched:

And if you’re not already familiar with the original, here it is:

And if you want a review of the BBQ, Internet Forever suggest looking here
OH WAIT! Edit!
I just got an e-mail from the band themselves:
“Cover The Walls is coming out on Twenty Years Of Boredom Records, but it’s been pushed back until the end of October due to boring stuff that takes time to sort out. The US single (on Art Fag) should be out before that I think.
The UK single will be on iTunes and there will be about 300 vinyls in shops and at shows. The US release is vinyl only (500 I think) but most of them will be sold in the US. We’ll have some to sell at shows, but you’ll be able to get it straight from Art Fag is you ask nicely.
There WILL be tshirts too, soon.
And our Huw Stephens session will be broadcast last week of September.
And we’re being featured in a Radio 2 documentary to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Maida Vale Studios. They’ll be an interview with us, and a song played, on Radio on October 31st, I think.
Oh yeah, we’re shooting our first proper music video in the next week or so. It will be way lo-fi. Awesome scenes.”
Probably the best moment of my day. It’s only rival is a quorn and crisp sandwich though, but still.
