Though it might make the prospect of an Interpol album tour even more distant, the fact that Paul banks is bringing his Julian Plenti side-project to the UK can only be considered one of the best pieces of news I’ve heard this year. You can imagine my worry, however, when it was announced that he only planned to do two dates. Thankfully (for me, anyway), one of those dates is Manchester, and the other is obviously London.
“Julian Plenti – the solo alter ego of Interpol frontman Paul Banks – is set for two UK gigs in December.
Banks will play the Manchester Academy on December 2, then London Scala on December 3.”
I’ve been spending a lot of time listening to the album and it’s really growing on me – Banks has done an excellent job of making something brilliant, whilst not sounding too much like his day job. Excellent.
