I’d stick this under the ‘Myspace Trawling’, but I’d be lying – I found them through Facebook.
Tigers That Talked are a fourpiece with a glorious name, centred in Leeds. Their sound is similar in places to that of another Leeds group – the ever-wonderful Grammatics, but that’s most likely due to the fact that both stray from the standard guitar-driven line-up that dominates most bands in this country, and having an effiminately voiced singer. At their best, the are sweeping and epic, similar to Funeral era Arcade Fire, particularly prevalent on next single Black Heart, Blue Eyes.
Anyway, they’re playing all over the place in the coming months, but the one that is most important to me is their date at Crome closing Manchester’s FREE FOR ARTS festival. If you’re interested, here’s the details from a Facebook group:
