It seems that this October, every decent band at the moment wants to tour the UK. Maybe it’s just the stars aligning, maybe it’s fate, or more likely it’s the fact that I’m living with my mother, unemployed and have a lot of spare time to listen to music and check bands myspaces with alarming regularity. Either way, it’s nice to see that Crocodiles are touring Europe and stopping off in the UK for a little jaunt in a few venues.
The band themselves sound quite a lot like a Jesus and Mary Chain cover band, but in a good way. They’ve been endorsed by new NME editor and all round good egg, Krissi Murison, which the band are probably hoping means that they’ll get a lot more coverage. Pitchfork accused them of essentially scene-hopping, chasing the no-fi noise pop sound that seems to be doing well at the minute. It’s probably fair, but their album, Summer of Hate is still pretty awesome. Catch them in the following places:
19-Oct Glasgow, Stereo
20-Oct Sheffield, Plug
21-Oct Manchester, Night & Day Cafe
22-Oct Brighton, Audio
23-Oct London, Victoria
