Now that ITC has finished, everyone going to be blogging about the new bands that they’ve seen. In stark contrast, I went to one event. And that was because I wanted to see the already signed Hot Club de Paris. So I’m a bit of an idiot really. Anyway, one band that caught my eye (and I may have caught a little bit of) was Dutch Uncles.
Despite being a prominant fixture on the ITC line-up, Dutch uncles have already released one full length album, but are looking likely to build upon that. All signs suggest that some sort of record contract should be coming their way – various influential people have been tweeting about how impressed they were (some even suggesting they outperformed The Drums at Night and Day last night).
They’ve got under 1,000 listeners on last.fm but that’s soon to change. Dutch Uncles make pitch perfect indie-pop that sways and makes you want to swoon and dance and be happy. I don’t know, just give this a listen, from their self-titled debut LP:
