Not satisfied with already making one of the best EPs of the year, Sparky Deathcap took time out of his busy, jet-set lifestyle to suggest some artists to me on last.fm. Proving that he’s quite good at listening to music as well as playing it, he suggested the lovely love.stop.repeat. Comprised of Dave Millar who provides the beautiful orchestral music that singer Lindsay West furnishes with her delicate vocals. It’s difficult to know who to compare them to – there’s some traditional folk in there, but it’s a lot more experimental than that at times. The whole thing is structured around the interplay between the warming, jangly backing music comprised all manner of intruments and West’s glorious, soaring voice. It drags you in with it’s woozy harmonies and tender arrangement.
They’ve only been together 18 months or so, but they’ve already put out a 7 track album, featuring a handmade, fabric bound cover which appears to have sold out, as well as split 10″, which also seems to have gone, too. but you can grab ‘sunday strolls & miracle’ below, which is pretty awesome. And all the songs on their myspace are ace, too:
