BRIGHT LIGHT BRIGHT LIGHT – A NEW WORD TO SAY/ KELIS ACAPELLA REMIX
Taking a break from his excellent remix work, Rod ‘Bright Light’ Thomas has given away new track ‘A new word to say’. Recorded with Boom bip from Neon Neon, it’s the usual layered, dance-inspired stuff that you should hope will be dominating the dancefloor come summer. Then, to top it all off, he’s gone and remixed his favourite song of the year/decade/millenium, putting his own spin on Kelis’ single Acapella and it’s brilliant.

YUCK – SUICIDE POLICEMAN
If you’re playing with the likes of Best Coast, Smith Westerns, Dum Dum Girls and Times New Viking, you know you’re probably on to something good. london fourpiece Yuck slow things down a bit on this track, showing a tender side that will probably sit better when they’re supporting Dinosaur Jr. later in the year. They’re playing pretty much every festival this summer, so stay ahead of the game by commiting this to memory now.

TRASH TALK – EXPLODE
In the run up to the release of their second long player, Sacramento hardcore give away this ferocious effort. Though the last.fm mafia on their artist page claim it isn’t as good as their performances of the track live, surely that’s the point of a punk band? Anyway, it’s a good track, download it for yourself by entering your email at the link below.

SNOWDEN – SLOW SOFT SYRUP EP
It’s been available for about a month, but in case you missed it, Atlanta based Snowden gave away a new EP. Shying short of making a pay what you want kind of deal, the band are looking for funding for their next record and there’s the option to donate some dollars to the band as a tip if you wish to aid them. That aside, just enter your email address to get a sample of the band’s usual languid indie stylings.
