WORRIEDABOUTSATAN – PISSING ABOUT (GOLAU GLAU’S HYPER HYPER RE-MASH)
That Golau Glau aren’t yet being pushed about every music outlet about must be upsetting, not least for the band. Carrying on their bid to put out everything they do for free, this time they attack a worriedaboutsatan track, and the results are superb. Pitched somewhere near dubstep without the clichéd wobble bass, it’s a dark, dark vision of the duo’s own glitch-pop fantasies. Excellent.
AIRSHIP – KIDS
Following the announcement of the release of their new EP Algebra on May 10th, the band are celebrating by giving away a track from the Love & Disaster compilation EP. Entitled ‘Kids’ it’s fast paced but far from fancy free. With lyrics that dwell on getting old and the loss that comes with it, there are few bands that would manage to get away with what Airship don’t pass a second thought to. Certainly worth the hype.
CARIBOU – SWIM
GOLD PANDA – QUITTERS RAGA
These two played Manchester’s Deaf Institute last week. If you weren’t there, you missed out on an amazing gig. Dan Snaith obviously felt the pressure of Gold Panda’s hat-swapping antics (alternating between a vintage Hugo boss effort and a Panda) as he made his band go out wearing all white. The music was more than enough to overwhelm the outfits, however. This is Fake D.I.Y. have a review up here http://www.thisisfakediy.co.uk/articles/live/caribou-gold-panda-manchester-deaf-institute
