NME RADAR MIXTAPE #3
The third edition in the burgeoning mixtape, proving once again that the NME isn’t completely fucked. Another 20 tracks of all genres stuck together and given away as a free download, just as it should be. Probably a slightly weaker line-up than last time, but it does have the undoubted talents of Wild Nothing, Warpaint and Team Ghost to ensure that it’s worth a download, though it’s definitely something you should have on your harddrive regardless.
HEARTBEEPS – SORDID CENTENNIAL
Not strictly a download, but one of the most ambitious projects you’re likely to come across in 2010 – Craig Nunn of Internet Forever fame takes time out from being an acclaimed photographer by the Guardian to make 100 covers of Pavement songs in 100 days. where it’ll last, we can only wait and see, but after the first 3 efforts, we can only hope he can be bothered with another 3 months of recording a track every day. Done in one take and recorded onto a mobile phone, it’s often difficult to understand why anyone tags him as ‘lo-fi’ at all, really.

COYOTE CLEAN UP – POLLUTION SHAMPOO
Carrying on the Internet Forever based news, the trio have announced that they’re to appear on a new compilation. Put out by Deathbomb Arc, the track will be called ‘Sleep when I’m alive/live when I’m dead’ and will be snuggly sat in amongst tracks by Beko DSL favourites Tan Dollar and other hot properties like Girls in the Eighties and Run DMT. Coyote Pile Up, also on the CD, are giving their effort away, and it’s wonderful.
And of course, don’t forget to download the latest Beko DSL – a double dose this week ahead of the first ‘beko box’ next week, whatever that is
