Slacker rock bands are like building blocks – you can take them apart and reassemble them in any order and they’ll still click together, solid and unshowered. Daily Life come along as if to prove the point – encompassing members of Manchester DIY scene fixtures Hyacinth Girl and Cargo Cult, the trio seem to have got together and gone about knocking out some tracks that sound like dirty, lazy pop songs. And they’re good, too, one to file alongside the many other acts who’ve spent too mcuh time listening to Pavement and watching pre-School of Rock Richard Linklater films. It’s all done at a comfortable canter, presumably in checked shirts. Feel your youth slip away.
