It gets tiring having people discuss stereotypes about your area when discussing a band who’ve grown out of the region. So just as Mancunians, the Icelandic and all from Glasgow are tired about hearing about their cultural history being padded over in articles, it’s for the sake of any French people reading that there won’t be discussion on how beautiful their language is and how much it improves Marc Desse’s song ‘Petite Anne’, and how the band’s quintessential Gallic nature infuses the track with a certain sense of glee. Or maybe there will – but that won’t affect your appreciation of a track that has, as Basement Fever put it, ‘incessant synth keying’, bringing with it a breeziness that sweeps you away. Yes, yes, yes.
